Solutia Ups Nylon 6,6 Capacity in Pensacola

Pensacola, FL, March 30, 2007--According to a report from Chemical Business, Solutia is bringing onstream two 40,000 ton per year nylon 6,6 lines at its Pensacola, Florida facility. The company reportedly is restructuring its business at Pensacola converting fiber production to plastic pellet production.

According to the publication, the first new line of the expansion project which produces A-grade material started up in Aug 2006. The company will continue to convert lines as the market grows. Pensacola is the largest integrated nylon 6,6 plant in the world.
