St. Louis, MO, Feb. 5--Solutia Inc. has announced a price increase on nylon carpet fiber for the contract carpet market segment.
An increase of six percent will become effective for shipments on or after February 16, 2004 on nylon staple and bulk continuous filament.
"Due to the continued effect of unprecedented high energy costs, namely oil and natural gas in the United States, our costs to produce nylon fiber have soared. Increased prices will help alleviate some, but not all of the burden of these higher costs," said Kaye Gosline, Director of Sales and Marketing for Solutia's Ultron Contract Fibers business.
