Solutia Introduces Ultron Prismatic Fiber
Kennesaw, GA. June 7, 2007--Ultron premium branded carpet fiber now offers interior designers more options in design and color flexibility through its Prismatic fiber. Ultron Prismatic fiber uses Solutia’s nylon 6,6 carpet fiber with a proprietary state-of-the-art dye technology that transforms white fiber into a full array of rich color. The infinite spectrum of color and color harmonies allows designers to use their artistic abilities to create a unique and beautiful foundation for any room.

Product designers are finding new ways to combine yarns of varying size deniers and lusters, tufted together with Ultron Prismatic to achieve distinctly different backgrounds and accents. The clarity and contrast of the individual colors found in products made with Ultron Prismatic allows the designer to pull out one or more colors for emphasis. By merging and blending color using a single Ultron Prismatic yarn, a myriad of hues emerge. The resulting color effects cannot be easily replicated, giving the interior designer a unique ability to create a specific effect.

Ultron’s Prismatic yarn is not only beautiful but is also environmentally responsible. A carpet mill may now use a single Ultron Prismatic yarn to create multiple yet distinct style and color combinations. 

Ultron Prismatic fiber will be on display at the Ultron showroom at the Chicago Merchandise Mart (space 10-130) and forms the centerpiece of the showroom’s NeoCon redesign. The entire floor of the showroom is dedicated to Ultron Prismatic fiber with three large inserts that reflect the architectural features of the showroom. “The flexibility of design and the richness of color that is possible as a result of the fiber’s unique characteristics will be readily apparent to our visitors,” says Marianne Cone, director of marketing for Solutia. 

Solutia will debut its newest color forecast – A Field Guide to Color – 2008 Color Folio – in the showroom on Monday, June 11, and Tuesday, June 12, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
