Solutia Cuts Contract Workers at Nylon Plant

Gonzalez, FL, Nov. 3, 2008--Solutia’s nylon plant in Gonzalez cut 50 contract workers last week in its manufacturing support division, according published reports.

The layoffs only affected only contract workers.

“The dynamics of the nylon market place continue to change and these layoffs reflect a global decline in demand,” said a company spokeswoman. “We’ve got to strike a balance between our assets and demand for our nylon products.”
