Smith + Noble to Fold Rug Studio Catalog

Corona, CA, August 24-- Home decor products cataloger Smith + Noble plans to fold its Rug Studio catalog at the end of the year, according to Catalog Age. Founded in 1987 as a window treatments cataloger, Smith + Noble later expanded in to rugs, bedding, and other decor items. It also mails the Windoware and Home Decor catalogs. The company was acquired in 1998 by Cornerstone Brands, a $650 million holding company based in West Chester, OH. Cornerstone's other properties include home products and decor catalogs Ballard Designs and Frontgate, and apparel books The Territory Ahead and TravelSmith. Smith + Noble's core catalog targets affluent home furnishings and apparel buyers, primarily women, who spend about $250 an order.
