Small Business Optimism Ticks Lower in June

Washington, DC, July 12, 2011 -- The National Federation of Independent Business said its small-business optimism index edged 0.1 point lower to 90.8 in June.

NFIB said the decline was "unsurprising" and "solidly in recession territory."

Measurements of increasing employment, current job openings, plans to increase capital outlays and expected credit conditions rose, while components measuring expectations for the economy and higher sales, and potential expansion fell.
