Six More Cleaning Solutions Earn CRI Seal
Dalton, GA, May 31, 2007--A total of six new cleaning solutions have joined the Carpet & Rug Institute’s (CRI) Seal of Approval products certified by a an independent testing laboratory.
Two of the new SOA products are pre-sprays, while the other four are spot removers bringing the total of approved products to 129 in the solution portion of the SOA program.
Chem Dry's Grease and Oil Spot remover, Stain Extinguisher and Stain Extinguisher: Grease and Oil Spot remover join Stanley Steemer Professional Carpet and Upholstery Spot Remover in the list of spot removers. Easy Green Traffic Cleaner and Easy Green Rinse, a pair of products produced by Steamway International, were the two pre-sprays earning designation. Steamway International is headquartered in Denver, CO., while Chem-Dry is located in Logan, UT., and Steamway is headquarted out of Dublin, OH.
Each product passed a series of stringent tests performed by an independent laboratory in order to make the list of cleaning solutions. The tests for spot removers, pre-sprays and in-tank solutions include protocols for efficacy (removing stains), resoiling (whether the product attracts soil at an accelerated rate), pH (excessively acid or alkaline products can affect dyes and fibers), optical brighteners (can adversely affect color, appearance and performance) and colorfastness to light (residues on pile yarn can accelerate color change).
