Sherwin-Williams Reports Higher Sales, Lower Income

Cleveland, OH, April 17, 2014 -- The Sherwin-Williams Company reported that first quarter net sales increased $199.4 million, or 9.2%, to $2.37 billion, due primarily to higher paint sales volume and acquisitions.

The company reported net income of $115.4 million, down slightly from $116.1 million a year ago.

Net sales in the Paint Stores Group increased 16.4% to $1.36 billion in the quarter due primarily to higher architectural paint sales volume across all end market segments and acquisitions.
