Sherwin-Williams President Resigns

Cleveland, OH, June 1--Sherwin-Williams's president and chief operating officer, Joseph M. Scaminace, resigned Tuesday after 22 years with the nation's largest paint maker to take the top post at OM Group Inc., a specialty chemical manufacturer. The 52-year-old Scaminace will become president and chief executive of OM, taking over from interim head Frank E. Butler, who had served in the position since January when James P. Mooney stepped down. Scaminace will join OM's board and Butler will return to his post as non-executive chairman, OM said. Sherwin-Williams said Scaminace also resigned from the company's board. The company's chairman and chief executive, Christopher M. Connor, will assume Scaminace's responsibilities, taking on the title of president once the change is approved by the board. Scaminace had served as president and chief operating officer at Sherwin-Williams since 1999.
