Sherwin-Williams Expects Higher First Quarter Earn

Cleveland, OH, Apr. 13--Sherwin-Williams Co., on Monday said it expects a bigger than expected quarterly profit, boosted by robust domestic architectural paint sales. The Cleveland-based company said it raised its first-quarter earnings per share forecast to a range of 33 cents to 35 cents, compared with its view in February of between 26 cents and 30 cents. It earned 21 cents in the year-ago period. Analysts were expecting 29 cents per share on average, according to Reuters Research. Sales climbed 15% in the quarter, to $171.1 million, it said.
