Shaw's R2x Stain and Soil Remover a Hit with D

Dalton, GA, Mar. 4--Utilizing the same components that made Shaw's patented* R2x Stain and Soil Repellent System one of the most popular carpet protective treatments in the industry, the company is reporting an excellent response to its new R2x Stain and Soil Remover. Following extensive testing by Shaw's Technical Services department, the innovative spot cleaner was made available to retailers last fall in a countertop display featuring two bottle sizes. "After selling many different brands of stain removers, Shaw's R2x Stain'& Soil Remover is the only one that we sell and recommend to our customers," says Dick Watson of Watson's Carpet and Flooring in Noblesville, Indiana. "We give every customer a free sample bottle and many of them return to purchase more because of how impressed they were with the performance of the product. We have definitely been very satisfied with this product." Dan Stoos, president of The Carpet Club Carpets in Greeley, Colorado, reports that his store uses a case of R2X Stain and Soil Remover each month. "We sell a ton of it to the University of Northern Colorado," Stoos says. "They love it because, by using the R2x Stain and Soil Remover, they are able to eliminate hiring professional cleaning crews to spot-clean the carpet. As a company we think that the R2x product is the future in stain resistance." Carey Mitchell, director of Shaw Technical Services, says that the R2x Remover is not only an extremely effective spot cleaner for most household stains and soiling, its use eliminates the need for rinsing - the extra step that most homeowners never take the time to accomplish. "Failure to rinse out most spot cleaners causes rapid re-soiling of the cleaned area," Mitchell says. "It's one of the most common complaints we hear from consumers. " Mitchell notes that the re-soiling problem occurs for either of two primary reasons, often both. The vast majority of cleaners leave behind residue after the initial spot cleaning that acts as a magnet to attract soil from foot-traffic, and the cleaned area quickly becomes unsightly. Many other spot cleaners also remove the stain and soil protection with which the carpet is initially treated, leaving the affected area more vulnerable and receptive to discoloration. While some of these products remove stains, either of these conditions, or both acting together, can " make the aftereffect much worse than the original spot. "R2x Stain and Soil Remover not only effectively removes most spots and stains, its ingredients re-treat the carpet with both stain and soil resistance properties," Mitchell claims. "There is no residue to rinse out of the carpet, and the cleaned area has been re-protected to guard against future problems." Mitchell adds that the new R2x cleaner complements Shaw's R2X Stain and Soil Repellent System, the carpet protection treatment that yields total fiber coverage, and can be used effectively with all types of carpet and is safe for use on all water-safe fabrics, including wool. While the company was extremely satisfied with the effectiveness and superiority of R2x Stain and Soil Remover, the product was also submitted to the Good H9usekeeping Institute for evaluation. A respected appraiser of consumer products for more than 100 years, the Institute gave R2x Stain and Soil Remover its highly regarded Good Housekeeping Seal. Shaw advertised the new cleaner in two issues of the publication late last fall. The counter-top display features two sizes of R2x Stain and Soil Remover; it includes 12 32-ounce spray bottles and 33 4-ounce bottles. Many retailers are using the smaller bottle for its promotional value, giving one to customers who purchase a carpet or rug. The delivered price for the package is $99.95, delivered and inclusive of display box. Cases of both sizes of R2x are also available for re-order.
