Shaw Schedules SFA Convention
Dalton, GA, May 25--Shaw Industries has announced that the bi-annual convention for Shaw Flooring Alliance retailers will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas. The event is scheduled for February 3-5, 2005, and Shaw expects more than 800 retailers plus family members to attend.
Opened in April of this year, the Gaylord Texan features 1,511 rooms, five restaurants, and 400,000 square feet of meeting space. The resort highlights Texas attractions, including atriums that recreate the San Antonio Riverwalk and feature a tour of the Hill Country. Guests can also take advantage of a 25,000-square-foot spa and fitness center or enjoy any of a number of other activities the resort offers.
“We felt like this was an ideal venue for our convention,” says Blane Haywood, director of Shaw Flooring Alliance. “It has the room and attractions we need for such a special event, and it’s virtually next door to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.” Haywood says that 2005 Shaw products and programs will be introduced at the convention, including those of SFA vendor partners, and attendees will be able to win prizes and have access to important special offers. He further reports that Kathy Ireland and Warren Buffet are scheduled to attend the event, and surprise entertainment is also planned.
