Shaw Opens New Rug Distribution Center in Georgia

Dalton, GA, July 29, 2009--Shaw Industries has opened a new and larger 600,000 square foot distribution facility in Ringgold, Ga.

The facility will service national retail chain customers for Shaw Living area and accent rug products.

The plant began operations in May and is 95% completed. It is expected to be running at full capacity by August.

It is equipped with computerized and consolidated shipping technology, which Shaw said give customers more timely service and ensure on-time delivery.

The plant, Shaw said, was made to provide Shaw Living with a more efficient and state-of-the-art automated packaging system, putting all related distribution methods in the same facility

“This facility is a commitment to the future of our rug division,” said Jeff Brown, vice president of Shaw Living.
