Shaw & Mohawk Announce Price Increases on Carpet Products
Dalton, GA and Calhoun, GA, October 16, 2017-Shaw and Mohawk have announced terms changes and price increases on carpet products.
Shaw announced a change to net 30 terms for all residential customers. Customers already on net 30 day terms will receive a 5% to 6% price increase, while Mohawk announced a 5% to 6% increase on both residential carpet and main street carpet products.
Shaw's changes will take effect for shipments on December 4, while Mohawk's will be on orders placed on or after November 27 and shipments after December 29.
Shaw’s standard terms of sale will be net 30 days for both hard and soft surfaces. The company believes the best time to standardize terms is during a carpet price increase, and it is working directly with its customers on the transition.
Similarly, Mohawk's increase applies to products purchased on net terms. For products purchased on discounted terms, Mohawk will revise to net 30 terms in lieu of the increase, and effective November 27, all Mohawk flooring products will be transacted on a net 30 day basis.
