Shaw Launches Online Payment Program

Dalton, GA, May 20--Shaw has announced the creation of Pay Online, a secure computer application that will allow the company’s customers to pay bills online. A pilot program involving a group of Shaw customers assisted in the development and testing of the Pay Online system now available for all eligible customers. To be eligible, customers must be enrolled in Shaw Online, the company’s online program that gives them instant access to a wide variety of business services that can be managed conveniently via computer. According to Chris Rawls, senior regional manager for Shaw Financial Services, the company is continually seeking new technologies, such as Pay Online, that provide benefits to customers. “A growing number of businesses are utilizing new technologies that reduce or eliminate paper transactions and that help handle and manage financial and other processes,” Rawls says. “Pay Online will eliminate the need for customers to buy, maintain, and mail or fax checks to be processed through a bank lockbox for their Shaw purchases.” Pay Online users are able to pay invoices and apply open credit memos. Customers can also create and maintain their own online payment settings. The information would be entered by a dealer administrator and only available to users designated to manage this function. Rawls notes that Pay Online offers a number of benefits to the company’s customers. “Pay Online is so convenient because it’s available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week,” he says. “It’s really designed as a time-saving feature for our customers.” He points out that it’s not possible to make a payment application error. “It is impossible to transpose a number, and the system allows the customer to build their own remittance as they point and click on the items they wish to pay.” Rawls says that when the customer completes the payment, the system e-mails the customer a remittance file, which is easy to read and perfect for record keeping. Transactions are made through a secure website that uses the latest technology of authentication, encryption, and firewall/port monitoring. Rawls adds that currently no other flooring manufacturer offers online bill payment. Customers interested in the new service may contact their Shaw sales representative or call their credit manager in Shaw Financial Services for more information.
