Shaw Launches New Laminate Locking System

Dalton, GA, October 3, 2007--The Hard Surface Division of Shaw Industries is using a new locking system called Loc N Place.

Shaw is only North American manufacturer using this single-action, patented technology. All colors of the inventory styles Natural Splendor II, Rustic Expressions Oak, Rustic Expressions Pine and all beveled-edge products will be converted to the new locking system by mid to late October. Additional styles and colors will follow.

 “This is truly the most exciting enhancement in the laminate floor industry," said Scott Sandlin, Shaw’s vice president of hard surface business development.

"Not since the conversion from glued to glueless laminate installation has there been an advancement of this magnitude in the industry. Loc N Place not only dramatically decreases installation time but also makes laminate installation easier.”

Shaw saide it is the first manufacturer in North America to launch this type of installation system on a wider format, non-beveled-edge product.

Lifting of the previous piece of laminate during installation or the use of traditional installation tools such as a hammer and tapping block are unnecessary.

“Throughout the years, I have performed many installations,” said James Mullins, Shaw’s manager of field technical services. “Loc N Place is the fastest and the easiest installation I have ever experienced, and I believe it is the future of laminate flooring.”
