Shaw Industries to Buy Anderson

Dalton, Ga.- September 14, 2007 – Shaw Industries Group, Inc. said it will purchase The Anderson Family of Companies based in Clinton, South Carolina.

Anderson has been in the hardwood flooring business for over 61 years and sells under various brands including Anderson, Virginia Vintage, Appalachian, Biltmore Estate and the Anderson Pacific brand.

Anderson is a fully integrated producer of hardwood flooring.

Bell said that Shaw would continue the Anderson name.

Don Finkell, president and CEO of Anderson, said, “Joining Shaw Industries will allow Anderson to keep being Anderson but with even greater resources."

The closing of the transaction is expected to be completed soon. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
