Shaw Hard Surfaces Offering Debit Card Promotion
Dalton, GA, October 21, 2005 - The Hard Surfaces division of Shaw Industries has launched a debit card promotion, “Shaw Me the Money!,” for sales of selected hard surfaces products. The first phase of the promotion includes selected hardwood and laminate products. Valid on orders placed from September 19, 2005, and shipments through December 31, 2005, retail sales associates are earning cash for selling these qualifying styles, with the amount earned applied to a personal debit card. Each carton of qualifying hardwood or laminate that is properly tracked earns $3.00 that will be credited to the retail sales person’s “Shaw Me the Money!” debit card, and the card will be issued after $100, or 34 cartons, is accumulated. Each month the card will be reloaded with cash earned for sales during the previous month. The debit card does not expire at the end of the promotional period, and participants will have 24 months to use it before expiration. Retailers are urged to hold onto their cards, since Shaw is planning to add different hardwood, laminate, and ceramic styles in continuing promotions over the next two years. For each promotion, retailers will be able to earn cash that will be loaded onto the same “Shaw Me the Money” debit card. David Wilkerson, vice president of marketing for Shaw’s Hard Surfaces division, says the response thus far has been outstanding. “People like the flexibility a debit card gives them,” he says. “It’s like having a bonus savings account that can be used in any way participants want, from putting a down payment on a car to buying a special gift.” Shaw retailers can register online at www.Shaw-Me-the-Money.com, or with a registration form supplied by their sales representative. Participants will be given a web access code and password to access their accounts on the website and track sales.
