Shaw Gets Award for Truck Fleet Management

Dalton, GA, January 16, 2008-- FleetOwner magazine awarded Shaw Industries the title of 2007 Private Fleet of the Year.

According to the magazine, the award program was established to give public recognition to an innovative organization that sets the standard for excellence in truck fleet management.

The magazine named Shaw’s fleet a “trucking tour de force” and commended Shaw for its move to a consolidated trucking operation in 2007.

Shaw’s trucking fleet employs over 500 drivers and consists of 400 tractors and almost 3,000 trailers.

“Integrating the transportation functions is innovative,” said Randy Smith, Shaw’s director of transportation.

“The consolidation of our over the road (OTR) and inter-plant (IP) fleets means better service and a higher level of efficiency.”
