Shaw Closing a Carpet Finishing Line

Ringgold, GA, May 1, 2008--Shaw Industries is closing a carpet finishing line located inside a rug plant in Ringgold, Ga.

A Chattanooga television station had reported that an entire plant was shut down.

The confusion came because Shaw had always referred to the finishing line as a separate plant because its function was so different than the activities in the rest of the building.

Approximately 67 jobs will be lost but the company wants to move the employees to other Shaw facilities.
