Services Sector Growth Slows in September

Washington, DC, Oct. 3, 2014 -- The services sector of the economy grew at a slower pace in September, according to the Institute for Supply Management.

Growth was at its lowest level in three months although employment hit a nine-year high.

ISM said its services index fell to 58.6 last month from 59.6 in August.

The August reading was its highest level since its inception in January 2008.

Readings above 50 indicates expansion.
