Downers Grove, IL, Dec. 18--ServiceMaster's Board of directors will elect two new board members, Betty Jane Scheihing and Roberto R. Herencia, at its upcoming January meeting.
During the past several years, the board has been engaged in an ongoing review of its organization, size, composition and effectiveness. As part of that review, a special committee of the board recommended revisions to the board's corporate governance principles which were adopted in March. Under these principles, the board agreed to reduce the number of directors and that no more than two directors will be present or former officers of ServiceMaster.
Four current directors, C. William Pollard, Carlos H. Cantu, Vincent C. Nelson and Charles W. Stair, will retire from the board as part of the planned transition.
"The reorganization of our board, and the strengths our new members bring with them, will give us new insight and direction as our leadership team executes the goals we've set for ourselves," said Jonathan Ward, chairman and CEO.
