ServiceMaster Realigns Executive Team

Downer Grove, IL, January 12--ServiceMaster Company announced that Albert Cantu has been named Group Business President of ServiceMaster with responsibility for American Residential Services, ServiceMaster Clean, Merry Maids and Furniture Medic. Mr. Cantu previously held the position of president and chief operating officer of Terminix International. Also, Katrina Helmkamp has joined the company as president of Terminix International. Ms. Helmkamp was formerly vice president and director of The Boston Consulting Group. Thomas Brackett, division vice president of Terminix, has been promoted to chief operating officer of Terminix. "Albert has done a remarkable job of growing the business and building the Terminix brand. His proven skills and ability to lead a field service organization will be very important as ARS works to take full advantage of the HVAC and plumbing markets. Those same skills will help our ServiceMaster Clean, Merry Maids and Furniture Medic franchisees continue to grow and develop," said Jonathan Ward, chairman and chief executive officer of ServiceMaster. "Katrina brings many years of top-level business experience to the team. Her bias to action and focus on the customer coupled with Tom Brackett's extensive operating experience will help the Terminix team build on their industry-leading position and move to the next level of accomplishment," continued Ward. The company also announced that the TruGreen Companies - TruGreen ChemLawn and TruGreen LandCare - will now report to Ernie Mrozek, president and chief financial officer of ServiceMaster. American Mechanical Services (AMS) will continue to report to Mr. Mrozek. "Our TruGreen Companies will benefit from Ernie's seasoned leadership as we work to align our lawn care and land care teams to better serve our customers," concluded Ward. "We look forward to improved coordination and efficiencies between the two sides of the business yielding improved operational performance and results." Ernie Mrozek, Albert Cantu, Katrina Helmkamp and Scott Cromie, president of American Home Shield, report directly to Jonathan Ward. Mr. Cantu, 43, started with Terminix in 1985 and has held a number of positions with increasing responsibility in the business including vice president of operations. In January 1999, he was promoted to the position as president and chief operating officer of Terminix International. Ms. Helmkamp, 39, previously served as vice president and director of The Boston Consulting Group. She earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University and a MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
