Serious Mortgage Delinquency Rate Decreases

Washington, DC, March 28, 2011 -- Freddie Mac said that the rate of mortgages that are 90 days or more delinquent or in foreclosure fell to 3.78 percent in February.

The firm also said that multifamily mortgages that are 60 days or more delinquent or in foreclosure increased to 0.36 percent.

February’s single-family delinquency rate is down from 3.82 percent in January and down from 4.20 percent in February 2010.

Multifamily delinquencies in February are up from 0.28 percent in January and up from 0.23 percent from a year earlier.
