James Dasilva is in the U.S. Navy and was serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson when he entered the sweepstakes. The Vinson was providing support to U.S. troops in the Iraq war and was away for six months. Dasilva learned he won the Great STAINMASTER Carpet Sweepstakes while at sea. Dasilva has served in the Navy for 19 years, and is a Store Keeper, First Class.
James said, "My wife can't wait to shop for her new carpet. We had carpet that was damaged during a heavy rainstorm so the timing was perfect. I'm excited that she's excited."
James Dasilva was selected from nearly 25,000 entrants in a random drawing held July 13, 2005. As the winner, he will receive up to 1,500 square feet of new Stainmaster carpet, complete with Stainmaster carpet cushion, in the style and color of his choice. The grand prize also includes carpet delivery, old carpet removal and disposal, and new carpet installation, at a total value up to $5,000.
The Dasilvas are getting their Stainmaster carpet at B&K Carpet in Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland, owned by Tony Baldwin.
The Great Stainmaster carpet Sweepstakes began May 31 and closed July 11. Participants entered the contest online at www.stainmaster.com
