Robert De Monaco, Karastan Veteran, Dies
New York, NY, May 11--Robert De Monaco, a veteran of the carpet industry for nearly half a century, including several decades with Karastan, has died on April 28. Until his death, De Monaco, a resident of Freehold, NJ, was territory manager for Karastan Contract and Durkan Commercial, and was responsible for leading the New York salesforce of these divisions of The Mohawk Group. De Monaco began his career in 1956 at Exclusive Carpet and went on to sales positions at Stratton Industries before joining Karastan. Throughout his tenure, he received numerous awards for his sales achievements. The Mohawk Group is hosting a tribute and reception in memory of De Monaco on Monday, May 24, 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Center for Art & Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place in New York City.
