Rieter Closing Needlepunch Carpeting Plant

Winterthur, Switzerland, Sept. 15, 2008--Textile and automotive systems supplier Rieter will cease production at its Bebra/Germany automotive components plant up to the end of 2010.

The decision to close is part of the company’s ongoing restructuring program aimed at improving profitability and adjusting production to demand.

Bebra manufactures noise damping films and needlepunch carpeting as well as thermal protection components.

In February, Rieter closed its manufacturing plant in St. Joseph, Mich.
