Retail Sales Up 3.7% YOY in February

Washington, DC, April 1, 2026-Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for February 2026 were $738.4 billion, up 0.6% from the previous month and up 3.7% from February 2025, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. 

Total sales for the December 2025 through February 2026 period were up 3.1% from the same period a year ago. The December 2025 to January 2026 percent change was revised from down 0.2% to down 0.1%.

Retail trade sales were up 0.6T from January 2026 and up 3.5T from last year. Nonstore retailers were up 7.5T from last year, while food service and drinking places were up 5.2T from February 2025.
