Report: Tarkett to Sell Carpet Unit to Enia Carpet

London, England, June 28, 2006--According to a report in the Financial Times, Tarkett has decided to sell Tecsom, its wall-to-wall carpet division, to Swiss group Enia Carpet. The report said the sale will affect Tarkett's plant in the Spanish city of Berriozar and the group's plant in the French city of Sedan. Together, these plants employ 440 workers and generated turnover of close to 80m euros in 2005. The price paid for Tecsom has not been disclosed. Following the sale, the report said that Tarkett will focus its strategy on the production of vinyl flooring for residential and professional environments and laminated pavings. Enia Carpet is a dominant player in Switzerland, Austria, Germany and eastern Europe, while Tecsom has a strong presence in Spain, the UK, France and other markets outside Europe.
