Report:: Tarkett to Move Headquarters to France
Frankfurt, Germany, May 8, 2006--According to a report in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung Tarkett AG, the German flooring manufacturer, plans to move its headquarters from Frankenthal, Germany, to Paris and abandon the legal status of a German public limited company (Aktiengesellschaft, AG), the story cited management. This is to take place on completion of the squeeze-out. The regional headquarters for western Europe and for some service activities are to remain in Frankenthal. For some time, the group has been managed from the French base of its parent company. The Deconinck family owns a majority stake. For 2005, Tarkett saw turnover up by almost 13 per cent to 1.6bn euros, boosted substantially by newly consolidated business. Ebita slipped owing to higher raw material costs, while post-tax profit rose from 42.5m euros to 57.8m euros, and the dividend is to be increased from 0.27 euros to 0.30 euros per share. A turnover increase of 15 per cent is targeted for 2006, according to management, while, for 2007, the company is aiming for turnover above 2bn euros
