Report: Freudenberg Wants Buyer for Floor Unit

Frankfurt, Germany, April 12, 2007--According to Frankfurter Allgemeine, a spokesman from Freudenberg has confirmed that the German conglomerate is looking for a buyer for its floor coverings division again. It said the the group broke off negotiations in January regarding a sale following fierce opposition from staff.

The newspaper stated that Forbo, the Swiss floor coverings specialist, had then been regarded as the likely buyer of the division.

The report said it remains unclear, however, whether Forbo will succeed this time. Employee representatives have announced that Freudenberg will make a fresh attempt to sell its floor coverings division.
