Report: Bids Sought for Unilin, Mohawk Named As Po
New York, NY, June 27—-It was reported in the Wall Street Journal that several private equity firms are lining up to bid for Belgian flooring company Unilin Holding NV. The report indicated that bids are due July 1. The newspaper cited people familiar with the transaction. It was reported that Unilin in March said it had hired Goldman Sachs to advise it on possibilities for the business, including the possible entry of new equity investors. The WSJ stated that at least four equity firms were interested in Unilin: Allianz Capital Partners, BC Partners, Carlyle Group and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. It also said Mohawk Industries was also among the prospective bidders. Unilin has 12 production facilities, in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the U.S. Its U.S. facility is in Thomasville, North Carolina.
