Recycled Content in All Beaulieu Commercial Goods

Adairsville, GA, August 9, 2007--Beaulieu Commercial said it has become the first carpet company to offer post-consumer recycled content in all of its products.

"Incorporating recycled materials in 100% of our carpet products is one more indicator of Beaulieu's commitment to protecting the environment and preserving natural resources," says Beaulieu Commercial president James Lesslie.

"Environmental responsibility is part of every one of our purchasing, operating, and manufacturing decisions."

In 2005, the company introduced Nexterra, a modular tile backing containing 85% post-consumer recycled content. Since then, the company has incorporated recycled content into all of its backings, providing a consistent and constant source of recycled material.

Nexterra's recycled content is made up of 35% plastic from drink bottles, and 50% recycled glass derived from multiple consumer sources, including recycled windshields and lightbulbs.

The same post-consumer recycled glass content is part of Beaulieu Commercial's backings. In several backings, the company said, recycled content  enhances certain performance characteristics, including tuft bind and lamination values.
