Realtors Group Doubles Lobbying Efforts in Q2
Washington, DC, Sept. 23, 2011 -- The National Association of Realtors doubled its federal lobbying activities in the second quarter.
NAR reported that it spent $7.1 million, more than twice the $3 million NAR spent in the first quarter, according to a July 20 filing with the House clerk's office.
Among the issues that the group lobbied on mortgages and other matters. A key issue has been the scheduled rollback on Oct. 1 in the size of mortgages that government-controlled companies can buy or guarantee.
The top loan limit is scheduled to fall to $625,500, which NAR opposes.
