RadiciGroup in Beijing for “Showcase Italy”

Bergamo, Italy, October 16, 2006--From 16 to 21 October Beijing is hosting “Showcase Italy” (“Italia in Piazza”) to promote Italy and the “Made in Italy” trademark in China, a country that is currently one of the most successful examples of economic growth in the world. RadiciGroup—which has recently inaugurated the new offices of Radici Chem Shanghai, its sales unit based in the financial district of Xuhui—is among the Italian companies participating in the event. “Showcase Italy” offers an excellent chance for Italian companies to meet representatives from Chinese firms and make business-to-business contacts. For this event, Wangfunjing, one of the main shopping streets of Beijing will become a piece of Italy right in the heart of the Chinese capital: a pedestrian itinerary of exhibits and stands, where Italian regions and businesses will serve as the envoys of the “Made in Italy” trademark in China. Thus the project is an important development opportunity for Italy and Italian firms, from both promotional and purely commercial points of view. The event—organized by the Italy-China Foundation with the cooperation of STM—is one of the foremost initiatives in China during 2006 and is sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Development, ICE and ENIT. On Saturday, 14 October, a formal gala was attended by government officials, business leaders and the press. Included among the presenters were be Cesare Romiti, president of the Italy-China Foundation; Antonio Laspina, director of ICE Beijing; Rosangela Morana, representing the Region of Lombardy; Valerio Bettoni, president of the Province of Bergamo; and Angelo Radici, chairman of RadiciGroup.
