Quick•Step Wins 2005 Design of the Times Display A

Thomasville, North Carolina, October 28, 2005--Quick•Step recently won a silver award for its new Signature retail store display at the IN-STORE Marketing Expo in Chicago, Illinois. The Design of the Times Awards Competition, sponsored by Hoyt Publishing and presented by P-O-P Times recognizes the best displays in the industry. A panel of more than 100 leading marketing and retailing experts evaluated, discussed and scored the entries. The P-O-P Times’ list of winners recognizes the industry’s top talent for their excellence in utilizing a specific display type to meet the challenges of a specific retail environment. The Quick•Step display was categorized as a freestanding display for hardware/specialty retail stores. This display was designed to bring a new look to the laminate flooring industry by getting away from the trend towards wood grains and very masculine looking displays. This unit was designed using softer colors (caramel and saffron), large radiuses on the back panels, down lighting, edge lighting and back lighting which provided a softer looking display geared to the female buyer.
