Producer Prices Rose 0.2% in June

Washington, DC, July 12, 2024-The Producer Price Index for final demand advanced 0.2% in June, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. 

Final demand prices were unchanged in May and increased 0.5% in April. 

On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand rose 2.6% for the 12 months ended in June, the largest advance since moving up 2.7 % for the 12 months ended March 2023.

The June rise in the index for final demand can be traced to a 0.6% increase in prices for final demand services. In contrast, the index for final demand goods decreased 0.5%.

Prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services were unchanged in June following a 0.2% advance in May. For the 12 months ended in June, the index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services moved up 3.1%.
