Pile of Rags Left by Hardwood Floor Refinishers Ignites Fire

New York, NY, September 30, 2016—A pile of rags left by workers from A&J Wood Floors caught fire in April, causing tens of thousands of dollars of damage to several New York luxury apartments, including those owned by Amy Irving and Hank Azaria, according to the New York Post.

The incident occurred when Irving was having her hardwood floors refinished.

The owner of A&J acknowledged the fire occurred on his watch. “It was an accident,” Jakub Jankowski told The Post.

A lawsuit has been filed.
