Duesseldorf, Germany, July 5--Pfleiderer AG said it has informed the German Cartel Office that it plans to buy Kunz AG, a maker of laminate flooring.
A Pfleiderer spokesman said takeover talks with Kunz have reached the final stage and a deal is expected to be concluded this summer.
Last February, Pfleiderer, a systems supplier to the furniture, building and infrastructure technology sectors, said it started to examine the books of Kunz with a view to acquiring the company.
The spokesman said Pfleiderer is expected to buy three production facilities in Germany and nine in North America, but will not acquire one production facility in Germany and another in the US.
