Personal Income Rose 0.3%; Spending Up 0.4% in August

Washington, DC, September 30, 2022-Personal income increased $71.6 billion (0.3%) in August, according to estimates by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Disposable personal income (DPI) increased $67.6 billion (0.4%), and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $67.5 billion (0.4%).

The PCE price index increased 0.3%. Excluding food and energy, the PCE price index increased 0.6%. Real DPI increased 0.1% in August, and Real PCE increased 0.1%; goods decreased 0.2% and services increased 0.2%.
