Pergo Restructures Sales Team

Raleigh, NC, Sept. 9--In order to better meet the needs of its customers, Pergo recently restructured its specialty retail sales organization. This reorganization will make it possible for Pergo to maintain greater communication with its existing specialty retailers, as well as to expand sales opportunities through new dealers. As part of this restructuring, Pergo has announced the following three promotions: Mark Nagele has been named National Accounts Manager with responsibility for managing three of Pergo’s key accounts--Abbey, Carpet Coop of America and the National Floorcovering Association. Nagele joined Pergo in February 1995 as southeast regional manager and was promoted to midwest regional business manager in 2001. Richard Joncas is now Senior Divisional Manager for the west region, responsible for sales management of the western half of the U.S. and Canada. Joncas began his career with Pergo in February 1997 as a regional business manager. Kerry Wilt has been named Senior Divisional Manager for the east region, taking on responsibility for managing sales throughout the eastern half of the U.S. Wilt joined Pergo in August 1997 and has held the positions of account manager and regional business manager. “I’m confident that the reorganization of our sales team will allow us to better anticipate and respond to the needs of our specialty retailers,” said Kathy Andreas, director of channel marketing for Pergo. “We’re in a great position to become closer with our valued customers.” The restructuring of Pergo’s specialty sales team coincides with the relocation of Bill Dearing, formerly director of specialty business for Pergo, to the west coast where he has taken on a new position as manager of market development for California and Hawaii. “During his near decade-long career with Pergo, Bill has consistently contributed to the company’s growth, particularly through his work with our specialty retailers,” said Andreas. “With the addition of Diamond W as a new Pergo distributor, there is an opportunity for him to play a prominent role in maximizing Pergo’s sales opportunities in California and Hawaii. It’s an added benefit that this professional move compliments Bill’s personal aspirations to relocate to the west coast.” Having joined Pergo in 1995, Dearing was Pergo’s first North American employee. During his tenure, he has held a variety of key sales management positions, including Pergo’s first North American sales manager, national accounts manager and sales director for Latin America, before taking over as director of specialty business.
