Pergo Opens Design Center in India

Chennai, India, April 25, 2006--Pergo India Pvt Ltd, the subsidiary of global leader in laminated flooring, Pergo of Sweden, is in the process of expanding its dealership network, besides setting up design centres across metros and major cities, according to NT Bureau. Addressing a press conference on the occasion of inauguration of its design center in Chennai recently, K R Shivshankar, CEO, Pergo India Pvt Ltd, said the Swedish firm had introduced its range of designs in laminated flooring in 32 countries, besides offering technical and after sales service of high quality through local offices. Customers have the facility to avail e-showroom, a software that helped the buyers to match varied designs of flooring to the different rooms by changing the colours of the settings. 'Through this software one could have the feel and good idea of the type and design of flooring to match with the living rooms,' he said. Since the global launch of the brand Pergo in 1988-89, the Swedish company had introduced many new products with geographic expansion of its presence. The company forayed into India in 1998 and till now had completed 6 million sq ft of installation of laminated flooring, thereby becoming a leading player in this category of flooring. 'Pergo's design and functionality go together for both residential and commercial flooring with ranges like Original, Vintage, Exotic, Expressions and Uniq having different textures, colour and finish,' he said.
