Pergo Lands State Funds for its $36M Expansion

Garner, NC, June 9--Laminate flooring firm Pergo Inc. will receive $100,000 in One North Carolina Funds from the state as part of the Swedish company's plans to expand its Garner operations. The $36 million expansion will create 86 new jobs, according to the Triangle Business Journal. The expansion facility, located in the Greenfield Industrial Park in Garner, will manufacture Four-In-One molding, an all-purpose accessory that can be used in four different applications in laminate work. Production will begin in August. The new plant will create 54 new positions. Another 32 positions will be added to Pergo's Paragon project, a new direct laminate line expansion at the Garner facility. Salaries for both Four-In-One employees and Paragon employees will average $750 per week. Pergo also will receive support from Wake Tech Community College, the Town of Garner and Progress Energy. Pergo, which posted $214 million in sales last year, has more than 270 employees nationwide, including 227 in North Carolina. The company's North America corporate headquarters is in Raleigh. Pergo currently has invested $42 million in its North Carolina operations.
