Pergo Expands Partnership With Engineering Firm

Neumarkt, Germany, April 6, 2009--Laminate manufacturer Pergo has an expanded partnership with German-based Wächter Packautomatik, one of Europe’s most successful mechanical engineering companies.

Through a new licensing agreement, Wächter Packautomtik may market any machines developed in cooperation with Pergo as “Original Wächter Packautomatik engineered by Pergo.”

Wächter, which has a longstanding cooperative relationship with Pergo, manufactures machines that insert clips used in laminate flooring fold-down joints.  Flooring that incorporates this technology has been produced by Pergo since 2008 and has become a worldwide standard.

“It is important to us, together with selected suppliers, to set worldwide standards that benefit the entire industry.  This conforms precisely to Pergo’s philosophy of constantly improving laminate flooring and, hence, offering consumers ever higher standards,” says Ralf Eisermann, CEO of Pergo and manager of flooring activities at Pfleiderer.
