Pergo CEO Bernhoff Resigns
Trelleborg, Sweden, April 15—-Pergo AB announced today that Göran Bernhoff resigned from his position as president and CEO. "During my time as CEO of Pergo, the Group Management Team together with the Board, have drawn up a strategy for increased profitability and growth in the company. We have now carried out a major part of this program and see that we are well on our way. "However, over the past few weeks it has been announced in the media that the new shareholders, with a significant influence in the company, want to reevaluate this direction of the business. I therefore find it natural not to stand in the way of such a re-orientation, as I would be opposed to such a scheme," states Göran Bernhoff. The Board of Directors has asked Bernhoff to remain in his position until the matter of a successor has been resolved. "I regret that we have ended up in a situation where Göran Bernhoff wants to leave his position as CEO. He has done an excellent job since he took up his position in January 2004," said the chairman, Bertil Villard. The company will hold its Annual General Meeting in Trelleborg on Monday April 18. Pergo also announced today that Diane Tate has resigned from her position as Sr. VP Technology and IP. She has accepted a senior management position in a multinational corporation, where she will be primarily based in the UK. Tate was employed at Pergo since 1998 and worked in a variety of senior positions in the company’s manufacturing and technology areas. Tate will remain in her position, while the company looks for her successor.
