Patcraft introduces Foot in the Door

Dalton, GA, November 1, 2005--With an eye toward the uniquely tough demands of exterior-to-interior transitional areas, Patcraft Commercial Carpet is introducing Foot in the Door. “This product offers a strong solution for a very specific concern,” says Barrett Morton, Patcraft Director of Product Development. “As transitional flooring, entryways are more prone to soiling and need high maintenance. Aesthetically, it’s key to the all-important first visual impression of a building or space.” Foot in the Door’s dense, ribbed texture provides excellent scraping action for soil removal, reducing soiling and staining of interior carpet. It’s estimated that the product will remove as much as 85% of footfall soiling and moisture within the first 20-25 feet in the exterior-to-interior transitional area. In three key areas, Foot in the Door sets itself apart from other floorcovering options: + Superior durability. Foot in the Door is made to withstand substantial foot traffic. Its latex-free, PET content provides superior durability compared to carpets made from Polypropylene, and it earns the industry’s highest Hexapod results. + Environmental responsibility. It bears the CRI Green Label Certification, the industry’s most widely recognized mark of environmental friendliness. It also contains no asphalt, and carries our environmental guarantee, to recycle the product at the end of its life in your facility. + Flammability resistance. All products in the collection meet Class I Radiant Panel standards, a critical industry-wide benchmark for flame resistance. As a result, Foot in the Door can be used beyond the entryway and throughout a space or facility. Much of that performance stems from its PET rather than Polypropylene origin. Foot in the Door is backed with EcoWorx, the industry’s first 100% non-PVC sustainable backing system. EcoWorx provides durability equal to PVC, yet is 40% lighter for lower transport costs and carbon monoxide emissions. It is also 100% recyclable into more backing. Yes, we’ve created Foot in the Door primarily with entryways in mind, Morton points out, but its use in other extremely high traffic areas like mass transit facilities and retail interiors also makes good sense. And a solid palette of colors and patterns opens up plenty of design possibilities. “We’ve invested a substantial amount of time and resources into developing Foot in the Door,” says Morton. “We are excited about seeing it perform in the marketplace.” Patcraft Commercial Carpet is a Berkshire Hathaway company based in Dalton, Georgia, manufacturing carpet for the corporate, retail, healthcare, educational and tenant markets.
