Pace of Job Loss Declines in ADP Survey

Roseland, NJ, Jan. 6, 2010--U.S. businesses lost 84,000 jobs in December, according to the ADP employer services survey.

It was the ninth consecutive month that the pace of job cuts declined but was worse than economists projected.

Medium and small business payrolls each fell 25,000 in December while large business payrolls declined by 34,000.

Construction employment fell for the 35th consecutive month as businesses cut 52,000 jobs.
