Oxford Industries Buys Tommy Bahama Brand

Atlanta, GA, Apr. 29--Ownership of the Tommy Bahama brand, known for its upscale casual and island lifestyle in apparel and home furnishings, is being transferred to Oxford Industries. Oxford said it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase all of the outstanding capital stock of Viewpoint International, the owner of the Tommy Bahama brand, in a transaction valued at $325 million. An international manufacturer and wholesale marketer of branded and private label apparel, Oxford’s licensed brands include Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica and Oscar de la Renta. Among the Tommy Bahama licensees in the home furnishings arena are Shaw Industries for area rugs and Lexington for furniture.
