Shawano, WI, August 26 --The construction of a proposed new 125,000 square foot manufacturing facility by Owens Flooring Company in the city of Shawano got a boost from the Shawano County Board of Supervisors Wednesday night, according to the Shawano Leader
On a unanimous vote the 30 supervisors approved the county's application for a Community Development Block Grant not to exceed $500,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Commerce to help fund part of the project.
Owens Flooring Company currently shares its production facility with Heritage Veneered Products at 1275 Industrial Drive in Shawano. That facility is about 240,000 square feet. Once the new Owens facility is completed it will vacate the space it shares with HVP. OFC and HVP are divisions of Owens Forest Products of Duluth, Minn.
