Oriental Weavers USA Operations Merge, Mike Riley

Dalton, GA, September 8--Oriental Weavers Group announced today the merger of its North American divisions. Effective immediately, the company will fully merge its import (Sphinx) and domestic manufacturing (OW America) operations. The combination of trend-setting products, extensive sourcing ability, and expansive manufacturing resources will further strengthen Oriental Weavers’ position in the American marketplace. “The move will allow the company to fully utilize the assets of each organization and insure the most beneficial solutions for our customers by capitalizing on our synergies,” said Mike Riley who has been named President of the combined operations. “In continuing to grow Oriental Weavers into a truly global organization, we will employ a concerted strategic focus to capitalize on our various operations in the US, Egypt and Asia.” The company is also reporting new operations under way in Turkey, Lebanon and Indonesia. “As we move forward globalizing our business and shifting into additional home categories, we will maximize the talents of employees, partners and team members around the world to solidify our competitive advantage in the US,” Riley said. All sales, marketing, and manufacturing functions will now operate as one company. The company will continue to market products under the Sphinx and OW America brand names. Riley will report to Ahmed Salama, CEO and President of Oriental Holdings.
